The Georgantonis Sisters wrote Greek Food for Thought: Recipes for Body and Soul in order to share their parents’ delicious Greek village recipes with the rest of the world while honoring the legacy of their Greek immigrant parents. Their motivation came from growing up Greek in a kitchen filled with love, humor and poignant family stories of keeping the Greek culture alive and well in the Texas Panhandle.
The cookbook contains 100+ recipes of salads, vegetables, soups and stews, entrees, breads, desserts and beverages. Woven throughout the book are family stories that reflect a lifestyle both funny and poignant.
In addition, on each page is a wise saying passed down from generation to generation to impart the wisdom of the Greek culture and way of life.
Add in customs and family traditions in a historical Greek backdrop, and you have a delightful read and a truly amazing and authentic Greek cookbook!
